 Sri Kshetra Manjunatha Swamy Temple:


This is one of the most important religious places in Karnataka. It is located in the Dakshin Kannada district. This century-old (800 years) temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva also known as Lord Manjunatha. It is very close to the holy river Nethravati and people take bath there before visiting the temple. This temple has nice natural greenery.  This is must visit place for the travel enthusiasts.



Temple visiting Timing:  06.30 AM to 02.30 PM  &  05.00 PM to 08.30 PM everyday. 


Best time to visit: All time. During summer it's a little hot.

Special occasion:
During Mahashivaratri there is a huge crowd. Rudravisheks is the main attraction in the temple and lots of people visit to perform Rudravhisheka.

Parking Places: Huge parking place is available near the temple. Local authorities collect a minimal fee for parking.
 

How to reach  Dharmasthala Temple: 

Indian Rail: The nearest railway station is Mangalore which is 74 km from Dharmasthala. Another small station is Subramanya Road which is 54 km. Mangalore railway station is well connected with different cities in India. Also, Subramanya road railway station is at the root of Bangalore and Mangalore so there is better connectivity. Regular autos and taxis are available from the railway station to the city.
 
Buses: The nearest bus station is in Dharmasthala. Regular buses are available from Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, etc. There are lots of tour packages available from Bangalore, Mysore, and different cities.
  
Airport: The nearest airport is Mangalore airport which is 74 km from Subramaniya. The airport is well connected with Bangalore and other Indian cities.
 
Private Taxis: Availability of private taxis, Autos are very good. Traveling through cabs are real fun there due to its greenery and mountain area.

As this is a very famous tourist place, lots of restaurants are available around the temple. Both south and north Indian foods are available. Temple also provides food free of cost and that is a must to have. Very limited items but quite tasty.
