Srikalahasti Temple : 

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a very famous and old temple located on the banks of the river Swarnamukhi in a small city called Srikalahasti in Andhra Pradesh. It is around 36 km from Tirupati. Considered to be erected during the Chola dynasty in the 5th century.

Special occasion:

Special Rahu Ketu puja (rituals) are performed every day based on Rahu Kala (time). To perform this puja, there are tickets that need to be purchased which range between Rs. 300.00 to 2500.00 per ticket. 

On a single ticket, either one person or a couple can perform the Puja. This Puja is performed in masses. 

You need to stand in Q at least 4 hours before puja timing as there will be a huge queue if you reach late, there are possibilities for not getting tickets. There is no advanced ticket system.

Monday:     7.30 AM to 9.00 AM

Tuesday:     3.00 PM to 4.30 PM

Wednesday: 12.00 PM to 1.30 PM

Friday:        10.30 AM to 12.00 PM

Saturday:    09.00 AM to 10.30 AM

Parking Places: A parking place is available for cars and a two-wheeler. It is not free parking but you have to pay. In most cases, people park their vehicles where they stay and walk to the temple.

 

How to reach Srikalahasti: Bus frequency is very good from Tirupati, Chittur, Bangalore, Chennai, etc. You can hire taxis from Tirupati which is very conman and suitable for a small family.

Accommodation in Srikalahasti: 

Free accommodation is available by the temple in a big hall with carpet with a common toilet and bathroom. 

Also, there are lots of hotels available for accommodation. Price ranges for double bed Rs. 800 to Rs. 2500. During the festival, these prices changes.

Food & Restaurant in Srikalahasti:

Lots of vegetarian restaurants are available near the temple. You can find South Indian and North Indian food at a reasonable price. Tea and coffee are also very famous there.
