Shree Mahalakshmi Ambabai Temple:
Mahalakshmi temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi. It is one of the most important religious places in Kolhapur (Maharashtra).
Its construction was done during the Chalukya regime in the 7th centuries which is mounted on a stone platform. The idol of Maa Lakshmi is made with gems stone and its approximate weight is about 40 kg. Shree Yantra is also carved in one of the walls which is one of the attractions for the devotees.
There is mention about this temple in various Puran and the place is visited by many great personalities like Kohan King Kamdev, Chalukya, Shilhara, Yadavas of Devagiri dynasties, Adi Shankaracharya, Shivaji, Samhaji, etc.
This is must visit place for spiritual tourism.
Best time to visit: All time. During the summer, it's a bit hot.
Entry Fees: No entry fee for general darshan. You have to pay only if want to perform some special rituals.

Parking Places: Finding Parking near The temple is very difficult as the surrounding rods are very narrow and it is cover by the local market. Better to park your vehicle either in Hotel or some other parking place and use local taxis or Auto Rikshaw to reach the temple.
