The Gateway of India: 

The Gateway of India is one of the very famous tourist destinations in Mumbai where thousands of visitors visit there every day. 

It is an Indo-Saracenic-style arch monument that was built in the early 19th century (around 110 years back). It was built to celebrate the visit of King-Emperor George V and Queen-Empress Mary (The first British Monarch to visit India) in  December 1911. Construction was completed in 1924.

It is located near the Marine Drives at the seashore which gives additional beauty to the structure. You will find a ferry drive as well to have a look at Marin drive. This is must visit place in Mumbai. 

 

The Gateway of India Timing:  Open 24 Hrs.

Best time to visit: All time. During the summer, it's a bit hot.

Parking Places: Finding Parking near The Gateway of India is very difficult especially if you are not, aware of the Mumbai locality. Better to use public transport or local taxis.
