Palais de la Cite is a huge fort which is located in the middle of the French capital city Paris. This building has served the country differently over the period of time.

1214 to 1270 - It was the main Fort for King Saint Louis

1284 to 1314 - The fort was used by Philippe IV

Many other kings stays there during their periods and everyone renovated and extended its structure as per the need.

During the french revolution, it was converted to Prison and continued serving as a prison for a long period. Currently, this building is also known as "Palais de Justice" and used for Court and other legal purposes.

Some portion of the building is opened for tourists. Its construction is very grand with shows great French Architecture.
