हम सूर्य ग्रहण से आधात्मिक रूप से क्या सीखते हैं? What do we learn spiritually from a solar eclipse?

सूर्य ग्रहण का पर्व मानव जीवन को तीन प्रमुख सीखें प्रदान करता है। The festival of solar eclipse teaches us three major lessons:

पहली - इस सृष्टि में सब कुछ परिवर्तनशील है। इस भू मण्डल पर शाश्वत जैसा कुछ भी नहीं। समस्त चराचर जगत को प्रकाशित करने वाले सूर्य देव की किरणों को भी कुछ समय के लिए ही सही मगर पृथ्वी तक पहुँचने में असमर्थता हो जाती है अथवा पृथ्वी से सूर्य किरणों का ह्रास हो जाता है। 

Everything in this universe is changeable. Nothing is eternal on this earth. Even the rays of Sun God, which illuminate the entire pastoral world, also become incapable of reaching the earth for a short time or the sun-rays get diminished from the earth. 

 दूसरी - जीवन में सदैव अवरोध आते रहेंगे। यात्रा जितनी लंबी होगी अथवा लक्ष्य जितना श्रेष्ठ होगा अवरोध भी उतने ही उत्पन्न होंगे। बस उन क्षणों में धैर्य का परिचय देते हुए ये विचार करें कि जब सुख ही शाश्वत नहीं रहा तो दुख की क्या औकात है..? समय बुरा हो सकता है मगर जीवन कदापि नहीं। ये वक्त भी गुजर जायेगा, बस इतना ध्यान रहे। 

There will always be obstacles in life. The longer the journey or the better the goal, the more are obstacles. Just keeping patience in those moments, think that when happiness is not eternal, what to think of sorrow. Time could be bad, but life is never. Just keep this in mind that this time too will pass.

 तीसरी -  एक महत्वपूर्ण बात और वो ये कि जिस प्रकार सूर्य ग्रहण लगने पर भी मूल रूप से भगवान सूर्य नारायण में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं आता। दूर से देखने पर लगेगा कि सूर्य पर अंधेरा छा गया है जबकि यथार्थ में सूर्य की स्थिति सम बनी रहती है। ऐसे ही जीवन के सुख - दुख, मान - अपमान, अनुकूलता - प्रतिकूलता एवं यश - अपयश में आत्मा भी निर्लेप ही रहती है। 

The third important lesson is that as there is basically no change in Lord Surya even when there is solar eclipse (When one sees from a distance, it appears that the sun is covered in darkness, but in reality, the status of the sun remains unaffected.), our soul remains untouched by happiness and sorrow, honor and disgrace, favorability and adversity, and fame and ignominy of life.
